As usual, ICCROM General Assembly confirmed to be an important opportunity to draw a line and assess the most advanced and sustainable practices in the field of cultural heritage, to highlight the contingencies faced as well as success stories registered in the sector, to revise policies and instruments for their implementation. Four new member States were announced at the 28th General Assembly and thirteen new members of ICCROM Council were elected for the period 2013 – 2017.
Despite the tough global economic contingency, an impressive number of initiatives implemented by ICCROM were reported at the General Asssembly for the period 2011 through 2013 (ongoing) showing how lively it is this organisation.
We wish success to our colleagues at ICCROM for their coming endeavours in support to the many institutions and professionals in the field who share the task to preserve our cultural and natural heritage in respect for our diversity.
