October 29th 2011 a partners’ meeting will take place in the city of Byblos (Lebanon) in the framework of the WAR FREE WORLD HERITAGE LISTED CITIES project, designed and co-financed within the EC ENP Instrument through the CIUDAD programme, with a partnership led by the Council of the United Municipalities of Byblos, together with its partners the Head of the Board of the City of Mtskheta (Georgia), the World Association for the protection of Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage in times of armed conflicts – WATCH (Italy) and their associate partners, the Friends of Cultural Heritage Society – FOCUH (Turkey) and the Network per il Restauro Avanzato – NEREA (Italy)
The aim of the meeting will be to discuss and collect all the data and results obtained during the concept studies conducted in Mtskheta and Byblos in order to achieve the project expected results, producing consistent and realistic Risk Preparedness Plans and meet eligible criteria for the attainment for both World Heritage listed sites the status of cultural Properties under the status of enhanced protection
At the partners meeting a review of the state of implementation of the project will be conducted and a strategy for the next actions planned will be detailed. More information about the project are available at:
